St. Swithin’s Lane project consisted of the design and construction of a new seven storey building plus basement to accommodate a 61-bed compact city centre hotel in the heart of Bank, London. The site was extremely challenging due to its small footprint and busy pedestrian footfall. The project involved the demolition of the existing building, with the retention of the existing four storey façade to St. Swithin’s Lane as this allowed for full access to the pedestrian street during construction.

Irish Natural Stone was tasked with the stone elements of this project, and our work consisted of the following:
– Replication of existing 3rd floor cornice detail from the retained external façade with reconstituted Portland stone
– The supply and fitting of all windows to the rear façade with reconstituted Portland stone
– The supply and fitting of 3 No. Granite columns within the structure
– The supply and fitting of 45mm reconstituted Portland stone cladding to the external facades of the structure

All production was carried out in Ireland and transported to site in the UK.
